Game 8 vs Kincardine Cardinals #1
The Walkerton Capitals would travel to Kincardine on July 17th to play the Kincardine Cardinals #1 team in what would be a highly entertaining game.

The Capitals would bat in the top of the first and Ethan Rogers would lead the game off with a single.  Carson Baglole, Talan Hope and Connor McIntosh would each then single to bring in the games first run.  Jake Wells would walk with the bases loaded to bring Carson from third for the second run of the inning.  Unfortunately for the Capitals the run production would end after a strike out and a spectacular catch on a line drive when the runner was unable to make it back to base for the recorded third out. In the bottom half of the inning the Cardinals would tally four runs after sending nine batters to the plate.  Starting pitcher Carson Filsinger would be replaced after an injury would pull him from the pitcher’s mound.

In the top of the second inning Matthew McNaughton would lead things off for the Capitals with a walk, Logan Bradley would then single and Colin Clark would walk to load the bases.  As the top of the order came around the boys were looking to cut into the Kincardine lead.   With one out Carson Baglole would single to drive in Matthew from third but Colin would be caught with a tag at second base.  Talan Hope and Connor McIntosh would each single to bring in Logan from third.  Jake Wells would reach first after a third strike drop ball.  Carson Filsinger would then drive in two runs with a loop ball just over the glove the third baseman.  The Capitals would score five runs in the inning before the last out would be recorded leaving two runners stranded.  In the bottom side of the inning Ethan Rogers would continue with a fine pitching performance and not allow Kincardine to score any runs.

The third inning was lead off with a single by Matthew McNaughton who would then steal second on a wild pitch.  Logan Bradley and Colin Clark would both walk to load the bases.  Ethan Rogers would then single down the line to bring Matthew in from third.  Walkerton would continue to make contact with the ball and tally singles when Carson Baglole and Talan Hope each hit balls around the diamond.  The six run maximum would be achieved when Connor McIntosh crushed a ball into the outfield and beat the throw to home plate.  Kincardine would respond with two runs of its own in the bottom of the inning.

The fourth inning had Jake Wells leading things off with a single.  Carson Filsinger would then walk and A.J. Wells would hit a hard single.  Matthew McNaughton would then double to score runners from second and third base.  Logan Bradley would single and Colin Clarke would walk to bring a runner in from third and still have the bases loaded.  Ethan Rogers would also walk to score another run.  Talan Hope would hit his fourth single of the game and bring the runner from third around to score.  Connor McIntosh would also walk but would be left stranded on base when the final out was recorded.  A.J. Wells would come into pitch in relief but the Kincardine bats would come alive with some well placed hits.  The Cardinals would rack up 6 runs before the three outs were recorded.  The time restraint would end the game after four innings and the Capitals would walk away with their sixth consecutive win.
