We are planning to run OBA Teams for the 2022 Season and are now looking to gauge interest for these teams. We are hoping to get a team at each Division but it will all depend on interest.
For those who are not familiar with what OBA Teams are, here is a brief description of what it is. This is considered Rep Baseball where it gives your child an opportunity to play a little more competitive baseball and gives them an opportunity for more practices, games and tournaments. The OBA Teams will have regular practices through the week, they will play exhibition games against other Towns, play in a few tournaments plus have the opportunity to play for the OBA Championship which is on Labour Day every year (except for U18, it is usually a few weeks prior to that)
Your child will still need to play some games in WOBA as they are required to play a minimum number of games, the benefit to this is they still get a chance to play some baseball with their friends.
We would like to get the kids out on the diamond for a few practices this fall and we will look at the possibility of some sort of indoor training this winter depending on what the COVID protocols look like.
If your child is interested in playing this level of Baseball, please go onto our website under the Registration tab at the top of the website and please sign them up. All we are looking for is their name, age group and an email address to contact you. Also if you are interested in helping please let us know on this forma as well. To coach at the OBA level their will be Coaches Clinics you need to complete online. We can help direct you on how to start these courses.
