Game 3 vs Hanover Hurricanes Team #1
It was a warm Wednesday evening on June 7th, 2017 as the Walkerton Capitals travelled over to Hanover to play the Hanover Hurricanes #1 team. 

The Capitals would bat first and would make the most of their time while at the plate.  Jake Wells would single then steal second and third.  Ethan Rogers would walk and steal second in doing so the ball would elude the second baseman and Jake would run home.  Connor McIntosh and AJ Wells would both single and come home to score when Talan Hope hit a triple.  Matthew McNaughton would also hit a triple bringing Talan home.  Carson Baglole would double to bring Matthew around to score.  Carson Filsinger would then single to drive in Carson Baglole and the six run maximum would be reached.  The Hurricanes would send six batters to plate in the bottom half of the first and would score a single run. 

 

The second inning and the Capitals would continue to work hard at the plate.  Logan Bradley would lead off with a single and then steal second.  Colin Clark would single and then steal second.  The two runners would come home when Jake Wells tripled down the right field line.  The scoring continued when Ethan Rogers doubled and promptly stole third base and then came home on a passed ball.  Connor McIntosh would single and then steal second and third but would be stranded there as the next three batters would pop out, strike out and ground out at first.  In the bottom of the inning AJ Wells would have a stellar pitching performance as he retired the three batters 1, 2 and 3 consecutively. 

 

Carson Baglole would lead the third inning off and be hit by a pitch to take first base.  Carson Filsinger would then single and Colin Clark would also be hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Jake Wells would single brining in the first run of the inning.  Ethan Rogers would walk and Connor McIntosh would ground into a fielders choice play but the hit created an RBI.  The inning would conclude with a runner being tagged out at home plate.  Hanover would score its six run maximum in the bottom of the inning to bring the Hurricanes back into the game.

 

The fourth inning was lead off by Talan Hope who walked and then stole second and third base.  Matthew McNaughton would also walk and Carson Baglole would then single bringing in Talan in from third.  Matthew would then come home on a passed ball and Carson Filsinger would then walk.  The batting continued with Logan Bradley  walked, Jake Wells would then single to drive in two more runs.  Jake would then advance to third on a ball hit hard to the first baseman.  Connor McIntosh would double bringing home Jake for the sixth run of the inning.  Hanover would come to bat in the bottom half and would score five runs to cut into Walkerton’s lead.  The game would be called after the fourth inning because of time constraint.  The boys played a solid game throughout and some great hitting from all resulted in a well deserved win.
