Game 6 vs Saugeen Shores Sting #2
A warm and humid evening would see the Walkerton Capitals play Saugeen Shores Sting #2 on Thursday, June 22nd. 

Walkerton would take to the field with Jake Wells as the starting pitcher.  He would quickly retire the side with a three up three down inning.  The Capitals would come to bat in the bottom half of the inning and send seven batters to the plate.  Ethan Rogers would reach first base on a third strike drop ball and then steal second and third.  Talon Hope would hit into a fielders choice but drive in Ethan with the first run of the game.  Connor McIntosh would walk and A.J. Wells would single before both runners would advance on a wild pitch.  Jake Wells would then bring Connor home from third with a hard single.  The two runners would be left stranded as the third out was recorded.  The Capitals would lead 2-0 after the first inning.

 

The Sting would send seven runners to bat in the top of the second and would score two runs before the three outs were recorded.  The Capitals would continue to battle in the home half of the inning Logan Bradley would single and then steal second and third.  Ethan Rogers would then drive him home with a hard double.  Carson Baglole and Talon Hope would both single to load the bases before the third out was recorded. 

 

The third inning and the Sting would tally another run after sending five players to the plate.  Walkerton would also have a strong third inning and be rewarded with a five run production.  A.J. Wells would lead off the side with a walk and then steal second.  Jake Wells would then double bringing this brother around to score.  Matthew McNaughton would reach first on a third strike drop ball.  The second run in the inning was recorded when Jake Wells stole home after a pitch got away from the catcher.  Carson Filsinger would walk and both runners would advance on a wild pitch.  Logan Bradley would single to load up the bases.  Colin Clarke would single but the Saugeen infielders would throw Matthew out at home plate with a perfect throw and tag beating the slide.  The next four batters, Ethan Rogers, Carson Baglole, Talon Hope and Connor McIntosh would each single to bring around runners. 

 

The fourth inning and A.J. Wells would come into pitch and promptly retire the side, 1, 2, 3.  The Capitals would respond by sending five players to the plate in its half of the inning.  Matthew McNaughton would walk and then steal second and third.  Carson Filsinger would also walk.  Matthew would steal home when with two outs a ball got passed the catcher the inning ended with a fly ball stranding Carson at third.

 

In the fifth inning Saugeen Shores would score the maximum 6 runs to tie up the game.  Walkerton would send all 10 of its players to bat in the bottom half of the inning.  Ethan Rogers would lead off with a single and Carson Baglole would also single and then advance on a fielders choice throw to first.  Connor McIntosh and A.J. Wells would each single to drive in a run.  Jake Wells would walk and then steal second.  Matthew McNaughton hit into a fielders choice and be thrown out a first but not before brining in another run.  Carson Filsinger and Logan Bradley would each single but would be stranded as the game to a conclusion. The five runs scored would secure yet another win for the Capitals who have now recorded four consecutive wins.
