Game 6 vs. Flesherton Rangers
The Walkerton Capitals would travel to Flesherton on Monday, June 25th, 2018 to play the Rangers.  The game would feature some outstanding plays from both teams in what would end up being a seesaw battle.

Walkerton would be the first to bat and Connor McIntosh would lead things off with a hard single.  Connor would steal second and the next batter, Matthew McNaughton would walk, both runners would advance on a passed ball.  The bases would then be loaded after Lukas Watke would outlast a full count and be issues a walk.  Parker Elphick would also walk and he would bring in the first run of the game.  Riley Harris would then walk and then bring in another runner from third base.  Xander Thornton would single after a fielders choice play caught the runner at second.  Ethan Smith would come to the plate and hit a double to bring in the fifth run of the inning.  Ethan would, however, be left stranded at third base as the side was retired.  In the bottom of the inning the Flesherton Rangers would score three runs to cut into the Walkerton lead.

The top of the second would see Cayleb Peitz hitting a double into left field unfortunately he would find himself stranded at third as the next three batters would all strike out.  In the bottom of the inning Flesherton would send nine batters to face pitchers, Ryan Hinsperger and Parker Elphick.  Flesherton would score five runs before the third out would be recorded and Flesherton would take an 8-5 lead after two innings.

Walkerton Lukas Watke would lead things off at the top of the third with a double and he would promptly steal third base.  The next batter, Parker Elphick would single to bring the runner home from third.  Walkerton’s next batter would pop out into shallow centre field and the runner would be doubled off as he was attempting to steal base and could not make it back to the bag in time.  Xander Thornton would come to bat with two outs and would hit a hard line drive well into the outfield.  Xander would get a standup double and promptly steal third before coming home on a pass ball where he was able to beat the tag at home plate.  Connor Farrell would hit a single and Ethan Smith a double before the two runners would be left stranded as a third out was recorded.  The two runs scored would bring the Capitals back within striking distance.  Flesherton would quickly restore its lead, however, by scoring two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to restore the 3 run lead.

The fourth inning would be lead off by Cayleb Peitz who would single before stealing second base.  Ethan Garland would single and both runners would advance on a wild pitch.  Connor McIntosh would hit a double that would cash in a runner and Lukas Watke would also double to bring in the second run of the inning.  Parker Elphick would be awarded first base after catcher interference.  The next two batters, Riley Harris and Xander Thornton would each single to bring in another two runs for a total of four for their half of the inning.  In the bottom of the inning Ethan Smith would come in as closer and that is exactly what he did using only 15 pitches he achieved three strike outs while allowing no runs.  Walkerton would squeak out its six win in a row and sit in a tie in the WOBA standings along with two other teams.

The boys played another great game with excellent hitting when it was required the most.  The team made the most of its pitching staff as they were able to shut down the offensive bats.
