Game 6 vs Hanover Hurricanes #1
The Walkerton Capitals travelled just down Highway #4 to play the Hanover Hurricanes #1 in a Thursday evening game.  The two teams would play a great game that was both exciting and entertaining throughout.

The Capitals scored two runs in the top of the first when Lucas Bester and Jacob Zettler would both cross home plate.  Despite some fine pitching by Austin Cormack Hanover scored a single run in the bottom half to cut the lead to 2-1.

The two teams would each score a pair of runs in the second Cameron Maus and AJ Wells each scored for the Capitals.  Walkerton lead 4-3.

Walkerton could increase its lead when in the third Austin Cormack and Tyler Wallace each scored.  The Hurricanes added a single run in the bottom half to keep themselves within striking distance. Jacob Zettler came into pitching relief in the bottom half of the inning and continued with some fine pitching.

To start the fourth inning off Jack Walter walked and Dylan Cartwright was hit by a pitch.  Both would in turn come around to score runs.  Hanover would score one run but Walkerton continued to lead and after four innings lead 8-5.

The lead would then increase by one when Austin Cormack would come around to score.  Walkerton would make some fine defensive plays and shut down the Hanover squad in the bottom half of the inning.

Time curfew would limit the game to six innings but Walkerton would make the most of its final at bat.  AJ Wells, Jake Wells, Cole Saunders and Lucas Bester all scored.  Hanover scored one run in the bottom half of the inning but Walkerton would shut down the Hurricanes the rest of the way.  The game would end when pitcher Lucas Bester chased a fly ball into foul territory and slide to make an outstanding catch.

This again would be a complete team effort.  The defence was great, pitching top notch and the hitting came threw when needed most.  The team improved to 5-1 in league play.
