Mosquito Hope, 2017 (Walkerton Minor Ball)

The annual WOBA Mosquito Championship took place on the weekend of August 12, 13th and 14th in Mitchell, Ontario.  The Walkerton Capitals (Team Hope) would play in the Division 2 Championship series. In between rains, heavy at times the boys would play solid baseball in the hopes that they would make it through to Sundays championship game.

The final regular season game of the year had the Walkerton Capitals playing host to the Saugeen Shores #3 team on Tuesday, August 7th.  The game would feature solid hitting and excellent defensive play from the two teams in a highly entertaining game.

The last day of July would have two Walkerton teams facing off against each other for local bragging rights.  The game would be closely contested in a back and forth battle throughout the game.

The Walkerton Capitals would host the visiting Mildmay team on Thursday, July 20th.  Walkerton would be short 3 regular players and would call up a young Rookie player and require a player from Mildmay just to take to the field.

The Walkerton Capitals would travel to Kincardine on July 17th to play the Kincardine Cardinals #1 team in what would be a highly entertaining game.
